New Canadian List Serve

"Canadian Service Animals Advocacy (CSAA)"

PSD Choya 2005 The Psychiatric Service Dog Society is hosting a new Canadians-only Listserv called "Canadian Service Animals Advocacy (CSAA)". Peter Platt of Ottawa is the founder for the listserv, which is open to all people with disabilities living in Canada who are partnered, or wish to partner, with a Service Animal to help mitigate the effects of their disabilities. It does not matter what type of Service Animal you are partnered with. We accept handlers who are partnered with Guide, Hearing, Mobility-Assist, Seizure, Psychiatric, Autism, etc., Service Animals. Trainers of Service Animals are also welcome to join the group.

The focus of the listserv is advocacy for public access rights of Service Animal handlers so that they may more fully participate in society. We share new information on current laws related to public access, disability services, and reasonable accommodations in employment, education, and housing. Help Canadian service animal handlers develop a political voice in Canada by networking with one another online and brainstorming new solutions!

If you are a Canadian resident who would like to join the CSAA listserv, please go to http://www.serviceanimals.ca and click on the “MEMBERSHIP” link. Once there you will find instructions about how to become a member of the CSAA.

The CSAA listserv has not been set up for the discussion of service dog training or related topics. The CSAA does not make referrals to service dog training organizations or kennels.
